The short version: reader is a small personal service. It stores only what it needs to work. Your data is never sold, never shared with partners or advertisers, and never used for anything other than making the service function for you.
To operate the service, reader stores the following data in a private database on the server:
If you submitted an access request before being granted access, that request (email address and any message you wrote) is also stored and used only to evaluate your request.
Audio files are automatically deleted based on your account tier — typically after 30 days. The app shows your current retention period under Usage. Files can also be deleted manually at any time from the library.
Like any web server, reader's server software produces logs that may transiently include IP addresses and email addresses (e.g. when a request is denied). These logs are used only for debugging and are not retained long-term or shared with anyone.
reader uses Google's OAuth 2.0 service to verify your identity. This interaction is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. reader requests only your email address; no other Google account data is requested or stored.
To delete your account and all associated audio files, email edwin.a.avalos@gmail.com. Individual episodes can be deleted from the library at any time.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
